Ice cream queens Natasha Case and Freya Estreller run Coolhaus, an artisanal ice cream sandwich company, but they didn’t always have their sights set on the confectionary world.

30 Under 30 honoree Case had just received a graduate degree in architecture and Estreller was working in finance when they started selling ice cream sandwiches on the side in an old postal truck. “A side hustle is kind of my advice to all people starting a business, especially a food business,” said Case, who wanted to take a bite out of the business before fully jumping in.
